This webpage has not yet been updated with 2018 candidate information. Although most information is the same year to year, specific
event dates and locations change each year. Please only use this information as a guideline. New information will be posted shortly. Please use the contact form at the bottom of this page with any questions.

To 2017 Elected Candidates and your parents:

Congratulations on being elected to Scouting’s National Honor Society, the Order of the Arrow, Boy Scouts of America! Each council has its own Order of the Arrow (OA) lodge. The OA lodge in Spirt of Adventure Council is called Pennacook Lodge. To become a member, everyone must complete the Ordeal induction weekend. This goes for both youth and adults.

In order to make sure you and your family are prepared for this weekend, the lodge is having a Candidate Information/Registration Session on April 23, 2017 from 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM at EDCO (36 Middlesex Turnpike, Bedford, MA ).

Ordeal registration links for the first two Ordeals are below. Registration for the third Ordeal will open closer to the event. Below is a list of proper equipment that is highly recommended for your induction weekend.

All candidates must turn in a valid BSA medical form when they check-in. Forms may also be turned in at the candidate meeting if you prefer. Candidates will be unable to attend the Ordeal without this paperwork due to BSA policy. Forms must be from within the past 12 months. Part C is not required for this event.

REMEMBER: You are considered a candidate for membership for 1 year starting from the day in which you were elected. So if you do not attend one of the two weekends or do not successfully complete the weekend in 2017, then you would have to be re-elected in 2018 in order to attend an Ordeal/Induction Weekend in 2018. Note: If the lodge does not have the exact date of your unit election, we will use an election date of 1/1/2017.

To 2017 Selected Adult (21+) Candidates:

You are NOT a candidate for membership until you receive written confirmation from the Lodge Adviser. Selection is based on a decision from the Adult Selection Committee. Members of this committee include the Lodge Adviser, the Lodge Staff Adviser, the Scout Executive, and key youth members of the lodge. If you or your unit would like to check the status of your nomination, please email the Lodge Adviser at adviser@oapennacook.org.

Clarification note: Your informational letter references a signed registration form. This form has been replaced by an online form and the BSA medical form. If you need a paper registration form, they will be available at the candidate meeting.
